heat it™ is a medical device that relieves itching and pain caused by bites from mosquitoes, flies, bees and wasps.
By applying heat, itchy bites can be quickly and easily soothed using your smartphone.
Simple as 1-2-3
Treat insect bites in just a few moments using your smartphone. Simply connect heat it™ to the charging port and the appropriate app will open. If needed, you can now adjust the treatment. After a short warm-up, the contact surface of heat it™ is placed on the insect bite. Depending on the setting in the app, the treatment lasts 4, 7 or 9 seconds and reaches a temperature of 47-52 °C. The app notifies you when the treatment has been successfully completed.
The magic behind heat it™
To relieve itching and pain, the affected area of skin is briefly heated to approximately 52 °C. Current research suggests that the application of heat reduces the transmission of stimuli. As a result, the itching signal can no longer be properly transmitted, and the urge to scratch disappears. To achieve this itch-relieving effect on the skin nerves, a brief application of heat is necessary.
Why do mosquito bites itch?
Itching is the body's reaction to the mosquito saliva injected during a bite. Our immune system fights back by releasing histamine. As a result, blood vessels dilate, the bite swells and begins to itch. Heat treatment of the bite triggers various endogenous reactions that can relieve itching and pain.
