heat it™ is a medical device that relieves itching and pain caused by mosquito, fly, bee and wasp bites.
By using heat, itchy bites can be relieved quickly and easily with a smartphone.
Easy as 1-2-3
Treat insect bites in moments with your smartphone. Simply plug the heat it™ into the charging port and the corresponding app opens. If necessary, the treatment can now be adjusted. After a short warm-up, the heat it™ contact surface is placed on the insect bite. Depending on the setting in the app, the treatment lasts 4, 7 or 9 seconds and reaches a temperature of 47-52 °C. The app reports the successful completion of the treatment.
The magic behind heat it™
To relieve itching and pain, the affected area of skin is briefly heated to around 52 °C. Current research suggests that the application of heat reduces stimulus transmission. Consequently, the itch signal can no longer be properly transmitted and the need to scratch disappears. In order to achieve this itch-relieving effect on the skin nerves, a short-term application of heat is necessary.
Why do mosquito bites itch?
Itching is the body's reaction to the mosquito saliva injected during the bite. Our immune system fights back by releasing histamine. As a result, the blood vessels dilate, the bite swells and it begins to itch. Heat treatment of the bite triggers various endogenous reactions that can relieve the itching and pain.
